Muzzle loading, makers mark of Xavier Reis, Master gunsmith of the Arsenal Real de Lisboa until 1757. Portuguese lock signed at the frizzen by Joaquim António da Silva and dated 1791 and makers mark for the same gunsmith of the Arsenal Real de Lisboa. Silver mounts and JFR monogram to the trigger-guard.
