1880 is the most likely date of this canvas considering that at the time Pousão was following Marques de Oliveira to the Paris countryside, having produced dated similar paintings to the one now offered for sale.
This work by Pousão is extremely rare not only due to the short production of the artist that died aged 25, but also because nowadays the majority of his works belong to Portuguese public collections.
