Additional Information

The stylistic analysis of this tapestry suggests a late Baroque dating between the final 17th century and the early 18th century
Throughout this period landscape and mythological tapestries were woven both in Brussels and in Antwerp
It is possible that we are presented with the depiction of Persephone picking flowers with her muses, just before they were sequestered by Hades as per Ovid's story.
Brussels and Antwerp production was closely similar, reason why it is difficult to ascertain the correct tapestry's origins
