Fahua glazed ceramic
Relief and polychrome decoration in turquoise, white and ochre
Depicting the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove on a landscape with rocks, pine trees and cloud scrolls
Shoulder decorated with the eight Taoist symbols on a ruyi frieze and neck with vaporous clouds
Decorated near the base with a large petal lappet band enclosing inverted lotus buds
Domed cover with two peonies sprays and insects
Ming Dynasty, late 15th, early 16th century
Jingdezhen region
(cover restored; losses to the glazing)
