\r\nBunry\u016bsai was a g\u014d transmitted across at least three generations within the prestigious Kajikawa lineage, a school of lacquer masters who served as official artisans (goy\u014d-shi) to the Tokugawa shogunate from the early Edo period. The first Bunry\u016bsai was active between the H\u014dreki (1751-1753) and Bunka (1804-1817) eras, with his successors continuing the style and signature formulas, including the \"Official Artisan
