He participated in the Products of Industry Exhibitions in the early 19th century but also at the Universal Exhibitions in London (Crystal Palace, 1851) and Paris (1855).<br \/>\nDurand was the maker of the Trophy Cup for the 1841 Goodwood Races (Louvre Museum, Paris). The trophy was donated by Ferdinand-Philippe, Duke of Orl\u00e9ans and eldest son of King Louis-Philippe, an amateur horse magnate and enlightened patron, to the winner of the Goodwood horse races in 1841. This Renaissance style cup, was commissioned by the prince to the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Jules Klagmann  and realized by Durand.
