On confronting this painting with other works by Cristino da Silva it is evident that the landscape evolves from various focal points in which the figurative elements are centred, contrasting with a strongly structured and evidently solid foreground.
The artist resorts to a brilliant colour palette, particularly noticeable in the Naples yellow sky that fades into the soft twilight of blues that, in turn, contrast with the wild and sombre foreground in various shades of brown.
The pictorial treatment is constructed in a fast yet precise manner, with opaque glazes on most of the surface creating a carefree and soft perception.
