Note
Since 1932, Omega has acted as the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games on 28 occasions. For such an achievement, the brand wasn't simply involved in registering the records in many sports, it was necessary, over the years, to develop and evolve vital equipment to record the times that make the Sports History.
This piece was manufactured by Omega between 1960 and 1966 and used at the Pan-American Games in Winnipeg, Canada, in 1967, as a test for the 1968 Olympic Games - the first held in South America, in Mexico, and the first time electronic timekeeping was officially used.
The Omega Stopwatch chronograph with Split-seconds function (or rattrapante) fitted a caliber 1131 movement. The Split-seconds or rattrapante function implies the presence on the mechanism of an additional chronograph second hand on top of the first second hand, whose purpose is to time two different time intervals that start at the same moment.
The red plastic case prevented the stopwatch from accidentally being stopped and comes with a strap to be worn around the shoulder or neck.
