Finely chased and gilt bronze, with a white enamel dial signed Imbert L’aîné, Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes.
Spring-driven mechanical movement with an eight- to fourteen-day power reserve and half-hour striking mechanism on a bell.
The case with an allegorical composition symbolising War and Peace, decorated with military trophies, a cannon, swords, shield, standards and garlands, flanked by two putti, one holding a bow and arrow and the other a shield and helmet.
Raised on a shaped ebonized wooden base with gilt-bronze mounts, moulded ornamental friezes in relief and spherical feet.
