Additional Information

Provenance:
The Lobo da Gama palace oratory, Evora

Note:
Dismantled in the 1940s this main altar was donated by the Lobo da Gama palace owners for the chapel of a hospital who was never built. After some decades of uncertainty the altar was returned to the donor family who started the long process of restoring it.
It is with great pleasure that Veritas presents such an unusual lot for sale, both for its dimension and for its exceptional quality, which is so clearly representative of 18th century Portuguese cabinet making
