Composed of two articulated pieces: the upper part depicting a royal crown and the lower part of oval design with a central miniature framed by enamelled spiral frieze and representing Annunciation at the front and Saint John the Baptist at the back

Exceptionally rare by its dimensions, this piece follows the model of the 17th century medallions. Two examples of much smaller dimension are kept at the National Machado de Castro Museum and one at the Museum of Évora (inv. 2801-O616, inv. 2758-O590 and inv. 1011)
