Carved wood grip with shell motifs and fleurs de lis, silver mounts profusely engraved and gilt representing floral motifs, masks and trophies
At the end of the grip with Royal Portuguese Coat of Arms in silver

Note: Extremely rare pistol by Le Hollandois, exclusive pistol maker of the French Royal House.
Is one of a pair commissioned by the French government to be sent as a gift to D.João V, King of Portugal
Made at the Louvre in 1727 the pistols were gifted to the Portuguese king after the fire that destroyed the Portuguese Royal gun factory in 1726.
