After a model by Charles-Gabriel Sauvage, known as Lemire (1741–1827)
In patinated bronze, depicting Hymen standing, wearing a floral wreath, with outstretched wings and holding the nuptial torch, leaning against an altar bearing the arms of Louis of France, Dauphin and future Louis XVI, and of Archduchess Marie Antoinette of Austria.
The altar decorated in relief with garlands, drapery and foliate motifs.
Inscribed on the base “six exemplaires n°2” and raised on a circular wooden base covered in crimson velvet.
