Additional Information

The large international circulation of Sarmento’s work in the last
forty years, has made of the author one of the most well-known
contemporary artists. In a variety of media — painting, drawing,
sculpture, installation, cinema, photography and performance
— Sarmento explores his key topic, sexuality, and questions the
ideas of desire, absence, time and language. By juxtaposing words
to the silhouettes of an eminently sexual scene, this painting
reinforces the concern with the language related to desire.
