Of black lacquered wood (urushi), decorated in gold hiramaki-e
Of rectangular form, the removable cover with a symmetrical design of peony (botan) flowers and foliage on a black ground, the decoration continuing onto the sides
The interior compartmented, fitted with two bamboo-handled brushes, a water dropper, a rectangular tray with two solid ink sticks and a small blade with sheath
日本明治时期(1868-1912)黑漆描金小型砚箱(suzuribako),长方形,盖面以平莳绘技法饰对称牡丹花叶纹,纹饰延伸至四侧。内部分格,配竹管毛笔两支、水滴、墨条两枚及带鞘小刀一把。
