Chinese export porcelain
Polychrome decoration in blue, gold, green, yellow and red. Enamels applied between firings.
At the centre depicting harlequin with hat and one stock exchange share, black inscription "Soper centdo dela gewönnen" (50% profit over Delft). Rim decorated with floral motifs.
Commision for the Dutch market with the intent to lampoon the bankruptcy situation of the time due to huge speculation and using Commédia dell'Arte figures.
