Miniature executed from an engraving by William Skelton (1763–1848), which is housed in the Royal Collection Trust with inventory number RCIN 604916. Skelton's engraving was made from a painting by William Beechey (1753-1839), the current location of which is unknown. In the Royal Collection Trust, we also find another copy of the portrait of Prince Augustus Frederick, with inventory number RCIN 421451, a miniature created by Johann Georg Paul Fischer (1786-1875).
