Additional Information

Émile SERVAN bought, in 1871, Jean LASALLE's business, which was located at Place Dauphine, today Place Gambetta, in Bordeaux. It quickly became one of the most important jewellery retailers in the region.
Servan's brought together beautiful pieces of goldsmith and watchmaking, selected trinkets, works of art, as well as jewellery made using traditional old fashioned methods. From 1953 they were also supplying Hermes, Paris. The company closes on the death of Jacques Servan, the founder's great-grandson.
The Servan archives now belong to the city of Bordeaux, constituting the Servan Fund. Part of Jacques SERVAN's collection of ancient gold is also deposited in the city's Museum of Fine Arts.
