Durand was the maker of the Trophy Cup for the 1841 Goodwood Races (Louvre Museum, Paris). The trophy was donated by Ferdinand-Philippe, Duke of Orléans and eldest son of King Louis-Philippe, an amateur horse magnate and enlightened patron, to the winner of the Goodwood horse races in 1841.
