Additional Information

RISLER & CARRÉ
In 1897 André RISLER and his partner Georges CARRÉ opened their store in the luxurious and fashionable Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. The firm sold the best silverware and the most exclusive jewels, gaining almost instantaneously a desirable reputation amongst the Parisian elites.
In just 3 years RISLER & CARRÉ assert themselves in the luxury market, being awarded a gold medal in the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris, followed by many other awards, including at the Universal Exhibition in Saint Louis (USA) in 1904, in which only six French silversmiths had the honour of exhibiting, a fact that brough immediate international fame to the company.
RISLER & CARRÉ produced splendid pieces in the Louis XVI style, but also in the fashionable and more modern Art Nouveau style, André RISLER being responsible for designing most of the pieces produced. For his merit he would be nominated in 1906, aged 43, Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur by the French Government. His unexpected death would lead to the closing of "Maison Risler et Carré" in 1912.
