The "JME" stamp (Jurande des Menuisiers-Ébénistes) identifies pieces produced by master cabinetmakers of the Parisian guild before 1791, guaranteeing their quality and compliance with period regulations. The Jurande regulated the profession and required furniture to be examined and approved before sale, this mark being a distinctive sign of authenticity and craftsmanship.
