The hinged rectangular top with adjustable reading stand lined in gilt-tooled leather and three wells with hinged tops

The sides with conforming short drawers

The front and reverse with shaped apron, applied with a central ormolu mount of asymmetric rocaille design, with flowers, leaves and scrolls

The tall cabriole legs headed by rocaille mounts, terminating in applied sabots decorated with acanthus leaves in relief

Italy, possibly Genoa, circa 1740
