Saint-Anne marble top on bombé and crossbanded drawers, geometric
marqueterie work playing with the contrast of the woods colour. Ormolu organic
mounts.Stamped twice J. Birckle and JME
Jacques Birckle (maître 30th July 1764), ébéniste flourished throughout the
reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI, executed works for the Duc dOrleans and Marie
Antoinettes St. Clou Chateau.
JME Jurande des Menuiseurs Ébénistes, stamped on the pieces that followed all
the quality standarts of this famous and exclusive parisian corporation of ébénistes
