Black lacquered wood, profusely decorated in gold with mother-of-pearl inlay
Front with two doors decorated at the centre with cut-out reserves depicting landscapes with pagodas
Interior with eighteen drawers of different sizes arranged around a central drawer in the form of a portico
Each drawer decorated with zigzag friezes and various plant motifs, distinguishing nine species, including Tachibana orange tree, bellflowers (Azagau), Japanese arrowroot (Kuzu), camellia (Tsubaki), balloon flower (Kikyõ), chrysanthemum (Kiku), and Japanese apricot (Ume)
Gilt metal mounts with engraved decoration and chrysanthemum-shaped escutcheons
