Additional note

Jean Elysée Puiforcat (1897-1945) was a goldsmith and French designer, considered to be the most important French silversmith in the Art Deco style. From an early age he was known for the elegant simplicity of his geometric shapes and for the combination of silver with other materials such as hard stones or glass.
In the 1970s Andy Warhol (1928-1987) collected Puiforcat silverware and the sale of these in 1988 was a great success.
Pieces of his own can be found in collections of museums such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York.
