Cast iron barrel, long and of octagonal section, terminating in a slightly flared muzzle, also octagonal, with engraved decoration of mon, stylised foliage, birds, auspicious objects and the inscription 土中七百十番武庫司 ('Dōchū/Tsuchinaka', no. 710, Arsenal (Mukōshi), probably an inventory or storage mark)
Stock decorated on both sides with small cherry blossoms in inlaid gilt metal, and external matchlock mechanism, with long-armed iron serpentine (hibasami) attached to a robust plate, and guard in gilt brass
