Unusual foliage handles of double stem shape with scroll, joined to shoulder by two flower buds
Engraved heraldic shield over rococo cartouche surmounted by counts coronet framed by laurel branches and interlaced palms, 1819-1838
Hallmarks: Elder woman 1st grade (province, 1819-1838), Warrantee, part engraved master silversmith mark

Rather strikingly, if this sauceboat recaptures the traditional forms od the Consulate style for its evident ornamental sobriety as well as for the purity of its lines, its foliage scroll handle, of considerable modernity, foreshadows rather clearly the Art Nouveau shapes and taste.

Similar heraldic was used by the families GOÜYON-MATIGNON or by the 1st Counts LIMBOURG.
