Chinese export porcelain
Central decoration in grisaille, depicting an episode from classical mythology in which Perseus rescues Andromeda from the sea monster
Cavetto with a gilt spearhead frieze and border decorated with four grisaille reserves, with idealised landscapes and birds amongst flowering branches, framed by gilt cartouches
Qianlong period, c. 1745–1750
