Chiselled and gilt bronze
Raised on four scroll feet, base with floral frieze and relief representing putti with garlands, drapes and bee. Ormolu dial with chiselled decoration, framed by ormolu sculptures: Diana at the right, Cupid playing lyre on top and a scalloped plaque with relief representing nereid playing flute at the left.
Oval burr veneered base containing musical mechanism that plays with the hours or freely, adjustable laterally and with silencer at the base
Clock marked BUTTE and numbered, musical mechanism signed E. LECOULTRE (Elie LeCoultre (?)) and numbered
France, 2nd quarter of the 19th century
