Note: Similar pieces at Copeland collection, Peabody (Salem) and Mottahedeh Museums.
The first case is a tureen similar in shape and decoration, attributed to the Qianlong Period, ca. 1750/70.
The Mottahedeh tureen, slightly smaller and with bigger cover, shows curled body, relief fin and similar decoration. It is dated between 1740/60.
Another example is a similar tureen sold Christie's, sale 6214, dated ca. 1750/70.
