Chinese porcelain
Blue underglaze decoration depicting on both sides cartouche bearing IHS insignia, ground with butterflies, flowers and leaves
This vase might be commissioned by the Jesuits for the Holy Oils, some authors such as A. Varela Santos, Mª Antónia Pinto de Matos or Nuno de Castro points to the Daoguang Period, ca. 1840
Similar piece from the Mottahedeh collection attributed by the authors of "China for the West" to the 1670/90 period
