Additional Information
Executed by the crown jewellers around 1900 the design of this pair of candelabra is - if not by the hand of Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro himself - extremely inspired by the projects of the Barahona table service, possibly the most impressive work by the house of Leitão & Irmão.
The similarities between the candelabra now offered for sale and the ones designed by Columbano in 1894 and chiselled by Augusto Luiz de Sousa helped by Francisco Inácio Cardoso are obvious.
Examples of Portuguese silver of this size and quality are extremely rare in the market
