Description
China, Ming Dynasty, 16th century
Modelled as a standing screen, with a high-relief representation of 'Kui Xing' on one side, depicted in a characteristic pose, holding a brush and surrounded by constellations, clouds, flames, and precious objects painted in cobalt blue on the background. The reverse side features a receptacle with three openings and is decorated in blue and white with 'qilin' and artemisia leaf.
With two decorative supports on each side.

明代十六世纪 青花魁星点斗笔架。porcelain屏风式造型,一面以高浮雕塑魁星立像,手执毛笔,周围青花绘星宿、云纹、火焰及杂宝;另一面设三孔笔插,青花绘麒麟与艾叶纹,两侧饰以装饰性支柱。
