Description

Gilt bronze with profuse relief decoration featuring musical putti, urn, bow, laurel garlands, flower garlands, scrollwork and foliage motifs. Porcelain dial, possibly Sèvres, with polychrome decoration, gilt Roman numerals, putto, bird and flowers. With porcelain plaques decorated with flowers. Marked "Palais Royal/Leroy et Fils/114.115", by Maison Le Roy (1785) and numbered 437. With gilt wood base containing music box mechanism. France, 19th century (signs of wear, minor defects, lacking dome, mechanism not tested)
