Description

Chinese export porcelain decorated with Famille Rose enamels and gilding, the centre with a medallion depicting an animal leg on a foliage ground, framed by a garland of flowers and reserves with hunting and fishing motifs, fruit, vegetables, birds, rabbits and fish. The scalloped border decorated with rocaille frieze, inscription "SALDANHA DE AL BU QUER QUE", coat of arms of Dom Gaspar de Saldanha and Albuquerque (1719–1771), hunting and fishing scenes, flower garlands, ribbons and cartouches painted with landscapes. Qianlong period, c. 1765
