Description

In rosewood, walnut, ebony, ivory and tortoiseshell, with inlaid silver-plated metal fillets. Rectangular in shape, with curved hinged lid and resting on four silver-plated metal feet, molded in the form of winged cherub heads.
Decorated on the exterior and interior with elaborate scrollwork motifs and symmetrical cartouches, combining marquetry in various materials.
The escutcheon is decorated in relief with foliate motifs, scrollwork and a mascaron.
The interior is compartmentalized, with the hinged lid opening to reveal a writing surface lined in green velvet with gilt edging.
