Bronze meridians and mahogany stand, with a turned central column and three splayed legs resting on brass casters
Terrestrial Globe - CARY'S NEW TERRESTRIAL GLOBE, depicting the routes of notable explorers and the latest geographical discoveries. Marked with fully graduated equatorial, ecliptic, and meridional lines, as well as annotations of explorers' routes. The Pacific Ocean includes an equation table, and the Southern Hemisphere is largely devoid of landmasses, featuring references to Captain Cook's explorations and the furthest southern latitudes recorded. The globe displays nations in subtle coloring, along with cities, rivers, and pictorial relief of mountains.
Celestial Globe - CARY'S NEW CELESTIAL GLOBE, featuring stars and nebulae based on the catalogs of Herschel, Wollaston, Bode, and others, calculated for the year 1820. The constellations are represented by mythological figures, with stars depicted in eight magnitudes, including clusters and nebulae, labeled with celestial coordinates. Both globes have brass meridian rings and polar hour circles, along with paper horizon rings featuring zodiac symbols, cardinal points, and calendar scales.
