These chairs are part of a larger set that was reproduced in a photo Mário Novais Studios of the dining room in the Palácio dos Duques de Palmela in Lisbon.
The same photo, dated from the end of 1950's, was reproduced in the work of Reinaldo dos Santos and Irene Quilhó "Ourivesaria Portuguesa em colecções privadass". Lisbon, 1st ed., 2 vol. (1959-1960) and 2nd ed. (1974).
