A carved ivory Diptych
Representing four scenes of the Passion of Christ under gothic architectural compositions.
In the first quarter Jesus holds the cross and is helped by Simon of Cyrene, while being flogged surrounded by the crowd.
In the second quarter, Jesus is crucified among the Doctors of the Law with the Roman centurion holding the Holy Lace prepared to stick it in his chest.
In the third quarter Jesus is descended from the cross, by José de Arimateia, and delivered to Mary his Mother, surrounded by some of the Apostles and two angels.
Finally, in the fourth quarter Jesus is deposed in the tomb.
